Welcome! I’m an award-winning author, journalist, and storyteller, shaped initially by my English heritage and now firmly rooted in the landscapes of Northern California.
My third novel, Floating in the Middle, releases November 1st, 2025. Seven college friends reunite at a clifftop house on California’s eroding coast to plan their dream intentional community—but as the ocean swallows the landscape outside, buried secrets threaten to destroy both their utopian plans and their friendships.
My previous novel, The House on Liberty Street – Home of Second Chances (2022), is a heartfelt, suspenseful family drama set in my adopted hometown of Petaluma. Set over the course of one transformative Christmas Eve, it’s a story of resilient women, redemption, and the hope of new beginnings.
Before that, I released Big Green Country, a gold medal Ippy Award winning, gripping novel inspired by Northern California’s cannabis green rush and the farming culture I’ve long explored in my journalism and nonfiction work.
My nonfiction series, Fog Valley Crush (2014) and Fog Valley Winter (2016), dives into the farm-to-table heritage of Sonoma and Marin Counties. Both titles earned recognition, including a silver medal Independent Publisher Book Award and the Sonoma County Historical Society’s annual Editor’s Award.
Earlier in my California career, I penned the South County Notebook column for five years at the Petaluma Argus-Courier, drawing on the delicious chaos of raising three sons and life in wine country.
Originally from a small English market town near the Cambridgeshire Fens, I began as a UK reporter before an unexpected leap of love brought me to California.
Thanks for visiting—I’m glad you’re here!
